DescriptionHorizontal mixed media print. At the center of the work, a Black woman with straight, blonde, glittery hair and pink glitter lipstick casually and confidently gazes out towards the viewer. In her right hand, she holds a white hand mirror while her left arm rests on what appears to be an animal print pillow. Wearing a brown and white floral jacket over a deep red skirt, the woman, props a heeled foot on an ottoman. Around her are contrasting segments of varying brown backgrounds -- some that recall wall paneling -- with textured prints in blue, yellow, and beige, accented with aqua and pink lines. While some of these prints are bold and geometric, others seem to recall 1970s upholstery patterns. The soft features of the central figure and gentle drapery of her skirt are juxtaposed with the hard edge lines that separate all of the competing patterns from each other. Collections
