Descriptionvertical, rectangular abstract image; a unique print on rice paper. The delicate paper was laid over an inked glass plate and pressed by hand with variable pressure, resulting in uneven transfer of ink. In some places, such as the green almond or leaf shapes at center, the color is dense and evenly printed. However, the brown spheres in the right half reflect the uneven pressure as well as inconsistent application of ink; horizontal lines at the bottom right illuminate the way a brayer was used to roll ink onto the surface. Faint orange shapes in the left half of the sheet are the result of repeated stamping without applying more ink.Collections
