DescriptionIn the foreground is a photograph of a small Apsáalooke boy on a black horse appears in front of a thin leather bag with red, green, blue and white geometric patterning. A similar one hangs from the boy’s back. He wears white, fringed and embroidered pants and a large, feathered headdress. Blankets, white fur and a strap of bells hang from the horse’s back and neck. Photogrpah taken during the Crow Nation’s Annual Crow Fair in Montana. The photograph is layered on top of a watercolor illustration from the Denver Art Museum’s card catalogue of Native objects.
