DescriptionIn the foreground is a photograph of an Apsáalooke man on a black horse appears in front of a beaded bandolier bag. The bag is adorned with long fringe, bells and a beaded strap. A similar one hangs from the man’s right hand. The flowered design, blue background and white fringe match his cuffs and arm band. He wears a wide brimmed white hat and holds a black feathered fan. Green, geometrically patterned textiles, a white fur and a blue tier drop shaped decoration hang from the horse’s back. Photograph taken during the Crow Nation’s Annual Crow Fair in Montana. The photograph is layered on top of a watercolor illustration from the Denver Art Museum’s card catalogue of Native objects.
