Descriptionvertical, rectangualr image of the word "EMBUSTE", repeated across the surface, seven letters multiplied across seven lines. The words spill off the paper and bleed to the edges of the plywood support, threatening to burst beyond the artwork. The Spanish word embuste translates to lie, façade, setup or hoax. That lie is repeated so often that it has become fact. The letters are smeared and camouflaged, difficult to identify and yet overwhelmingly present.Collections
