DescriptionUsing the "picotage" technique, a method of creating surface texture with a needle, usually on a textile, but here on photographs and canvas, we see an everyday scene enlarged to monumental scale. In addition, layers of paint over the base images blur the documentary nature of the photograph. Photographed as if the viewer is pressed against a chain link fence, there is a scene of a wildflower garden in bloom but is just out of reach. In the midground is another chain link fence creating an additional barrier for the viewer to the nature scene behind it.
